Because sometimes you have to believe…

Do you believe in things?  I do.  I believe in a lot of things.

I believe that a long walk on the beach on a foggy morning changes everything.

I believe that my Nana was right – Irish tea has magical healing properties.  It can heal a sore throat, uplift a bad mood, and even mend a broken heart.

I believe in guardian angels – I believe that my dad shows up once in a while simply to let me know that his spirit is still around.

I believe in heaven.  I believe that my heaven and your heaven are probably completely different places, but that they both exist.  I believe that I’ll find my way there one day, even if I can’t possibly bear the thought of being somewhere other than right here with my family.

I believe in music.  I believe that songs are just words – but those words mean so many things to so many people.  And I believe in the power of an acoustic guitar.

I believe that childhood should be fun and that there is no room for stress.  But when stress creeps in, I believe in the power of play.

I believe in love.  Oh, how I believe in love.  I believe that love is real, raw, and sometimes heartbreaking.  I believe that when you find it, you never ever let it go.  And I believe that luck has nothing to do with it.

Choose your love and love your choice.  That’s what I believe.

And I believe in family.  I believe that family is what connects us – it’s that thing that we all crave and need and look for when the going gets tough.  But I believe that your friends are also your family – and you all know who you are.

I believe in kindness, generosity, and empathy.  I believe that when you have more you give and when someone falls you extend your hand.  I believe that if everyone else believed that, we would have no need for guns and violence.  Sigh.  Sometimes I feel alone in that belief.

And…I believe in dreams.

I could go on, but I’ve said enough.

This is really just a long introduction to the real matter at hand:  fairies.  Riley believes in fairies.  And I believe in encouraging her beliefs.  So please head on over to moonfrye to read about the power of belief.
